Backyard Olympics and Book Club

This week in honor of the olympics we are having our own backyard olympics. Each day there will be 5 events and at the end, my boys will be tired!
Todays events included a sprint across the yard.
Ball throwing.
Hoops shooting.
Distance kickoff.
Gymnastics.
Oh, and if you wonder were Thing 3 went to after the race, he went to play with his tractors, with his sunglasses on. Apparently, he was too cool to play.
Shortly after day one of our backyard olympics was over it was time for the home learners group to come over for our monthly book club. This month we read Curious George Visits the Library and the kids made their own books, or if you are Thing 1, you made 2 or 3 books by the end of the day.
Apparently, my backyard olympics idea worked because all three boys took nice long naps during rest time and I enjoyed a little peace and quiet. But that was not before a little school with Thing 2.
Since Thing 1 also took a nap it meant we had to move his school time to this evening after dinner. However, I think that was the best move today, because he did a great job tonight, probably because he was well rested.
Thing 3 even got in on the learning action tonight when he helped mommy make tortillas.
