We had a great week this week, full of lots of fun.
Monday began with day one of our backyard olympics.
That was followed by the August meeting of our home learners group book club. The boys made their own books. I was pleasantly surprised that all three boys made a book.
Apparently the backyard olympics wore the boys out, because all three of them took naps, which meant that Thing 1′s school was moved until the evening. It was during this evening school time that my bag that I am using to hold our schoolroom this year was delivered.
All of the excitement on Monday had worn the boys out, so we had a low key day on Tuesday, where I spent time with all three boys doing school and doing day two of our backyard olympics.
Wednesday was another low key day since Thing 1 and Thing 2 had decided to stay up til 11:15pm on Tuesday night. Needless to say the boys were tired. However, we did have a really good day and I was once again able to spend time teaching and learning with each one of my boys.
Thursday was a busy day. The home learners group came over for our sewing class. This month the kids made a canvas bookmark. Thing 1 did a great job with this needlework activity. I was really proud of him.
We also made paper plate spider webs to go along with the Eric Carle’s Very Busy Spider.
Friday was our weekly park date with the home learners group and once again Daddy Cameron was able to join us at the park.
When we came home from the park, Daddy Cameron had to do some work, so I took the boys outside to do a little bit of artwork.
Thing 1 finished the week by reading his 95th book. Since he first started reading, I have been keeping track of all the books he had read, because I told him when he got to 100 books he would get a prize. So he is at book number 95. He is so close and he knows it.
How was your week?
