{Running} Starting Over
| January 1, 2012 | Posted by Mommy Cameron | Ramblings under Healthier Me, Running |
It is time for me to get back to running. When I was running, I was much happier and healthier. However, I have let the daily madness in our house distract me from what I know I should be doing. I have also been allowing myself to succumb to any excuse I can think of. It is time to stop the nonsense and get back to the more active lifestyle that makes me a happier and better mommy.
Today I am starting over. Yes, all that hard work that I had put in from September 2010 to June 2011, is GONE. I mean totally gone. I am starting over from the beginning. Arg. However, I have to remember that I can do it and I can get back to that place. I need to get back to that place since I told my mom that I would run a half marathon with her at the end of March.
I am happy to say that I have started the new year off on the right foot, but actually getting out of my house and heading out for a run. Granted it was only 2 miles and it was at a 12:30 minute per mile pace, but I did it.
Here is my training plan for this week:
Mon. Walk (45 minutes)
Tue. 3 miles
Wed. Walk (45 minutes)
Thur. 3 miles
Fri. Walk (45 minutes)
Sat. 4 miles
Sun. 3 miles
Over the next few weeks I want to add in yoga and weight training, but I know I need to add these things slowly so I don’t burn myself out and end up like most people who get on health kicks for the new year.
